Nicola McGinlay

Nicola is the Cashroom Manager at Denovo, responsible for overseeing the entire portfolio of law firm clients who use our cashroom services, supported by her fantastic team. A SOLAS-qualified Legal Cashier with two decades of experience, she has worked across both large corporate firms and smaller local practices, giving her a deep understanding of the varied needs within the legal sector.

In her current role, Nicola ensures the smooth running of client cashrooms, maintaining up-to-date postings in line with the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules, completing accurate reconciliations of all bank accounts, instructing payments through client banking platforms, and double-checking settlement figures. She is also responsible for managing month-end processes, VAT returns, and accounts certificates, as well as escalating any potential compliance breaches to the Cashroom Partner.

Nicola has extensive knowledge of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules, the SRA Accounts Rules, and Overseas Practice Rules. She is a collaborative leader who thrives on building strong relationships with clients, known for her attention to detail and commitment to ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Outside of work, Nicola loves to travel, having lived in both Singapore and Dubai. She enjoys meeting new people, socialising with friends, and exploring the outdoors, often with a good walk and the occasional hill climb.
