Microsoft “Reinventing Itself” as a Cloud Company

Financial results released regarding the performance of Microsoft have shown that their willingness to embrace the cloud is proving to be beneficial despite an overall decline in the company.

Microsoft’s revenue for the final quarter of 2015 was $23.8 billion, however, this represented a 10% decline in figures in comparison to the same period last year. Continue reading

Cloud Use Increases in Regulated Industries

A new study from a Cloud security firm has revealed that government agencies and many large businesses have adopted The Cloud in the last year.

According to cloud security firm Bitglass, there has been a 71% surge in Cloud usage across both government agencies and large corporations in the last twelve months. The group analysed traffic from around 130,000 organisations in North America and found that the vast majority of companies had embraced The Cloud and other tools such as Microsoft 365 and Google Apps. Scottish Digital Skills Academy to Address Nation’s Skilled Software Developer Shortage

A Digital Skills Academy – CodeClan – has been established in Scotland with the aim being to help address the lack of skilled software developers in the country.

Denovo’s telephone numbers changing from 22nd October

Denovo will be changing our telephone numbers from 22nd October.  Our existing 0141 331 5290 number will remain unchanged but our support number will change from 0845 230 5290 to 0330 313 8455.

Short term Benefits to customers:-

– Customers are now able to contact us from anywhere within the UK, regardless of location, for the same cost as a standard phone call.

– There are no hidden costs or additional charges to the customer.

–  Calls to 03 numbers must also be included in any inclusive call minute packages or discount schemes offered by fixed and mobile network operators and from payphones, meaning less cost to the customer.  Effectively, this means 0330 numbers are included in the consumers’ “free” bundle of minutes.

– Statistics show that 0330 numbers are easier for people to remember!

Longer term customer benefits:-

This change of telephone numbers coincides with Denovo’s progressive move away from their traditional in house telephony platform to Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business. We are incorporating Microsoft Skype for Business as our primary phone system to meet our business demands and those of our growing client base.

As Denovo migrate to this new flexible Telephony/ Web conferencing platform the need for our staff to be permanently at our head office becomes less of a necessity, this versatility will further enhance the service levels we can offer our clients. When our traditional Scottish weather causes issues for most people Denovo can carry on business as usual from anywhere using our Denovo CRM / Telephony and Web conferencing all via the cloud.

Property and Land Information Online Resource Coming to Scotland

A new comprehensive online system – which will allow users to obtain detailed information about any land or property in Scotland – is not too far away, according to Scotland Deputy First Minister John Swinney, who wants the resource to be operational by 2017.

The implementation of Scotland’s Land and Information System (ScotLIS), which is aimed at all users from citizens, communities, professionals and business user, will be handled by a taskforce specially chosen by Mr Swinney. Continue reading
